January is such a loooong month and for many, it’s a time to tighten our belts, eat healthy and stay off the booze. So when you can’t drink, spend money or eat lovely food, what can you do? Here are a few ideas of things you can do to keep yourself occupied.
Think about starting something new and set goals. Open a brand new notebook (love that feeling) and write down something you would like to achieve in 2017 and think about how you will get there, it could be a new exercise regime or heathly eating plan. Maybe you want to start a blog about DIY, whatever it is make a plan. I find Pinterest a really great source of inspiration.
One evening when the house is quiet and the kids are in bed why not curl up with a good book instead of watching tv? Good reads aren’t just for the commute or the sun lounger. Get cosy with a blanket and a hot drink and escape in a story, or have a good browse of those gorgeous coffee table books you had for christmas.
Have a good declutter! Organise your wardrobe, sell stuff on eBay, arrange a car boot sale and make room for new items you can buy with the cash you make from the clear out.
Ditch old make up; decluttering not only applies to wardrobes and dusty shelves. Empty your make up bag that you use everyday, and throw out anything that is old and gloopy. Remember to give your brushes a good clean too.
DIY pamper nights! Light some candles, run a bubble bath and give yourself some much needed home treatments like pedicures, manicures and face masks. Your body and skin will appreciate it after the party season and harsh winter weather.
So there you have it, just a few ideas that you could do in your down time. Hopefully these things will make the count down to pay day a bit more bearable.
