Gingham goals

Gingham goals

Ahhh gingham, one of the biggest trends to hit the high street, it was prominent last summer but this year it seems to be unavoidable and in every form possible. There is an element of vintage charm in this classic pattern, or “picnic blanket” as my husband refers to it. But, what I love about it is that every colour of gingham this year has been reinvented either by way of a full ruffle dresses, tie sleeve tops or wrap around shirts.

I have been biding my time with this trend as although I do really like it, nothing really jumped out at me when I was shopping. I had a River Island gift card to spend so I popped in planning to buy some sandals until I saw this amazing skirt which I instantly loved. It is great for throwing on in the summer, not only does it have pockets, but it also has two cheeky little side splits and a tie waistband. The tie waistband is probably my favourite part as I think it just brings the skirt right up to date. This skirt is from their limited edition range so get in quick.

If you’re not quite ready to go for an outfit with gingham then go for accessories, the easiest way to dip your toe in the trend!

Have you tried gingham yet?
