Easy tailoring

Easy tailoring

When you think of tailored pieces, you might instantly think of workwear, but I wanted to show you how tailored pieces can work for everyday even if you’re not in the office. Wearing your tailored suit as separates with more relaxed pieces is a great way to make your investment worthwhile. Having worked in fashion offices over the years, the workwear attire rules have always been fairly relaxed so I’ve never really had to wear a suit. Although I always liked to have a decent pair of trousers so that I didn’t feel like I was in jeans all the time.

This season I bought these pale pink tapered trousers at a bargain £17.99 from asos. They sit high on the waist so they are comfy, plus a high waist in a lighter colour will flatter legs and make them appear longer. I’ve styled them here with a white sweatshirt, plain white trainers, rose gold chain and a slogan clutch. I will also be teaming them with slogan tees, camisoles and blouses with sandals come summer. If you don’t fancy wearing a pastel shade you could always opt for grey or navy as an alternative to black, both of which will look great with white and stripes!
