Since we have had our offer accepted on a new house, which hopefully we’ll be moving into soon, I can’t help but plan out how I want everything to look. I’m literally pinning like crazy everyday! So I thought I would share with you some ideas for the kitchen. Luckily the house itself is all finished to a great standard, all pretty neutral so it’s fine to live in initially which is great when you have a toddler, but I’m really looking forward to putting our own stamp on it.
I thought the kitchen would be the best place to start as it’s an open dining area as well and we’ll probably spend a lot of time there. Currently the units are just wooden with black worktops and tiles and the floor is tiled dark grey. My kitchen at the moment is very vintage country cream and sage green and we also have a pink Smeg fridge. I still love those elements but I would like to make the new kitchen slightly more modern.
I thought a colour scheme of grey, pink and copper would work well together and we could also use the existing worktops and tiles. We have basically spent the majority of our money on the house and we won’t have a lot left over to spend on doing the place up so I’m going to try and save money wherever possible. I already have a few copper accessories, plus some pink dining chairs and of course the fridge. I have a selection of crockery from floral, vintage and Moroccan inspired pieces but I quite like the mix of that together anyway. I’m hoping the only thing we need to do initially is find the right shade of grey to paint the units, without making the kitchen too dark. I will keep you posted!
