I do love shopping, always have but I like to think I buy considered purchases. Yes I have the odd impulse buy, but I don’t have things in my wardrobe with labels still on never worn and I do try and think of at least 3 ways in which I can style something. During lockdown I have bought a few summer pieces to update my wardrobe as well as a few investment items that were on my wish list. I then saw this thing on Instagram called Slow Fashion Season which is an organisation that highlights the impacts of fast fashion from the environment to working conditions. By signing up to Slow Fashion Season I have made a promise not to shop for 3 months unless it’s vintage, second hand or to support small businesses that may have been impacted by Covid-19. I’m hoping that this will enhance my shopping experience as I work a little harder to discover new and exciting brands with a feel good factor!
Since re-opening my vintage boutique on Etsy I have discovered some amazing sellers out there, which is where I discovered Sophia Sunday a brand that hand makes beautiful vintage inspired pretty dresses and tops. Being a devotee to summer midi dresses I was searching for the perfect gingham dress with a puff sleeve; what could be more perfect than tailor made to fit me?
