5 ways to spruce up your interiors whilst on lockdown
It’s been a bizarre few weeks but we’re now used to the idea that we’ll be home for quite a while. Staying home and keeping our families safe is our priority and one of the best things we can do is keep busy. So here are five ways to spruce up your interiors whilst at home.
Shelf Styling
Simply rearranging a shelf can transform the look of a room as well as keep things looking fresh. Use a collection of your favourite books along with trinkets, candles, plants and vases and anything else you may have that you could use in a display. Get creative and play around with heights and depth on the shelves; prop up artwork and photos, the more variety the better. Just try not to over fill and clutter the space.
With the weather getting warmer and more spring like, start planning your garden. Do you want to grow some herbs or plants, paint the fence or update that old table and chairs. If you fancy a bigger project then create a chic seating area using outdoor rugs and plenty of cushions for a relaxing garden space.
Odd DIY Jobs
There’s often little jobs that need doing, whether it’s putting up a shelf or painting the bedroom wall. It’s probably been on the to do list for months so use this time to get it done and you’ll feel so much better afterwards.
Get Creative
Why not get creative with a paint brush and produce some artwork of your own? You could paint anything from abstract art, a self portrait or your favourite quote. Anything goes, it’s your home after all! Add to a gallery wall or give it dedicated space hung on it’s own or as part of that shelf display.
Spring Cleaning
I’m talking about a deep clean here, pull your sofa apart and hoover up whatever has been trapped down the sides. Wash all those cushion covers and throws and throw away anything that’s ruined with stains or rips. Clear out the kitchen cupboards and restore a little order to your home.
Hope you have found these hints helpful and I hope you’re all keeping sane and most importantly safe.
