I’m looking forward to summer this year, let’s hope it makes an appearance! Trying to survive the heat wave last year with a small baby in tow was not much fun, so this year I want to relish all those day trips, picnics and bbq’s. We’ve also got a wedding and a holiday in the diary! So naturally I have a summer wish list. But I do try and make considered purchases thinking of cost per wear! Any fashion/trend purchases I like to buy are usually lower budget or in the accessories area. Here’s a few pieces that I think would be worthwhile buying this year.
A neutral blazer
I’ve often thought a cream or neutral coloured blazer would look great as a summer jacket. I’ve put off buying one thinking I’ll never wear it! This year relaxed fitting blazers are huge, so I may be investing in a linen version and styling it over dresses, slip skirts and jeans.
Embroidery and ruffles create the perfect prairie style dress. This style of dress is great for summer and you can’t go wrong with classic white. I’ll be getting one with sleeves for more wear!
The trend for backless loafers has grown and this season a pointed mule is the shoe of the moment. They’re great with dresses and jeans if you want something slighter smarter than a sandal.
