Interior decor: Girls bedroom

Hello! I know it’s been a while since my last post showing the nursery so I thought I would post some pics of Stella’s bedroom. We have actually swapped bedrooms so have been working on sorting the rooms out before posting. Stella’s room is where our bedroom was originally, you can see pics of this room here. It made more sense in terms of storage and space to swap; her new bedroom has more floor space for her to play with toys etc. and the other bedroom has more wardrobe space to store our (mainly my) clothing.

style-by-nic-bedroom style-by-Nic-girls-bedroom   When searching for a bed for Stella we decided to go for the Ikea daybed as it has great storage underneath for toys and you can also pull it out into a double bed which is perfect for when family and friends stay. At the end of the bed we’ve created a little chill out corner, with a hanging canopy and cushions, which Stella loves to hide in. She also chose the pink flower light from Ikea.

The only other piece of furniture in the bedroom is the chest of drawers which we painted in a pale turquoise green and I found some pretty drawer knobs in the Anthropologie sale that match beautifully and give the drawers a little vintage touch.

The built in wardrobes in the bedroom also feature cupboard space and shelving which are great for keeping boxes of toys hidden and displaying books. I also created a little space for Stella’s hair accessories and her jewellery box. I added a little pom pom garland from Amazon just to pretty up the space. I’m please with how it looks so far, we now just need to get a blind to go with curtains and paint the window sill. As you can imagine, it never really stays this tidy for long, but it’s pretty easy to hide things away in the built in storage. We may knock the wardrobes out one day, but it works for us for now!
