The art of layering necklaces

When it comes to accessorising I find jewellery such an easy way to update your style. Even on a day when all you want to throw on is jeans and a jumper by adding a ring or a necklace or two can make you feel more complete. Personally I love statement pieces, but for day to day I like to wear more delicate pieces particularly in gold. I do wear silver too, but looking at my jewellery collection it consists mainly of gold pendants and rings.

Layering your necklaces is a great way to give your look a more styled feel, or if you simply want to update your white tee then layer away, just remember to adjust your necklaces or pendants to varying lengths to show them off to their full potential. Over a t-shirt you could probably wear up to 3 or 4 pendants with the shortest sitting on the collarbone. For anything v-neck I would suggest just one or two necklaces that will sit nicely on your skin. I’ve styled two of my favourite pendants here with a white vintage style blouse and jeans. Although the blouse is quite busy with ruffles and ties, it still has a v neckline and the added pendants don’t take away from the blouse itself. I’m also wearing a vintage cocktail ring in gold which just adds a little bit of subtle colour to the look. Whatever your style try layering for an easy way to update your look. Simple chains with no pendants can look chic, whereas added beads or coin pendants give more of a boho feel. Have you tried the art of layering?
